John Hadley
As a young boy, I spent four years going to school in Switzerland. This experience greatly impacted my adult life. Back in the United States, I studied art and architecture and pursued a career in architecture and real estate. I received degrees from Dartmouth College and University of Southern California School of Architecture. Ten years ago, my wife and I became full time Camano Island residents. When I turned seventy, my wife gave me an 18’ rowing shell and, at 75, my children gave me painting lessons. Rowing on Port Susan Bay, surrounded with the beauty of nature, has inspired my painting. Architecture has limitations and boundaries. Art has given me total freedom to express my feelings for the elements of nature.
